A great example of how to “Double” Your Coupons!

I get asked ALL THE TIME if there are any stores around here that double. Well, there are a couple, but the conditions, limitations and raised prices really don’t make it worth the effort in my opinion.  But, this is a legitimate way to double some of the best coupons out there.

If you are new to my site, you might not have heard me mention SavingStar. It’s an e-coupon program that allows you to earn rebates on your purchases at Winn Dixie, CVS and Rite Aid in our area.  (Click here to read more about the program if needed)

You will need to sign up for SavingStar first. While you set up your profile, you add your CVS, Winn Dixie and Rite Aid card numbers. The SavingStar rebates will only be applied if the items are purchased at those stores which cards are connected to your profile.

SavingStar is a paperless coupon. You sign on to their page, select the coupons that you want and they attach to your SavingStar account. You don’t have to print, clip or even remember to use it! It’s automatically redeemed when you make the purchase of THAT item in one of THOSE stores. Once you have redeemed those selected coupons at the stores which cards you added to your profile, you get that coupon value applied back to your SavingStar account. Because this occurs after the fact, you can still use a paper coupon at the cash register.  Here is an active example that you can do. (Price was checked Tuesday, so may vary now.)

I bought two packs of Pillsbury Refrigerated Cookie Dough on Tuesday. It was on sale at Winn Dixie for 2/$5.

I printed this coupon to save $1.00 off of 2 packs. Plus, SavingStar also has this same $1.00 off 2 coupon available.

So, my cost for 2 packs was $5. I used the printable coupon (now $4) and also activated the coupon on SavingStar (from their app while I was shopping!). So, they gave me another dollar back the next day, making my total cost $3.

It is already in my SavingStar account. When that account reaches $5, I can cash it out as a paypal credit, an Amazon gift card, or have it direct deposited into my checking account. This is another way to get extra money coming back to you that maybe your hubby doesn’t know about! ;) If you are already buying the item AND you already have a coupon for it, or if you don’t! You should sign up and start getting a little MORE savings back!

If you haven’t signed up for SavingStar, <—- click that link and DO IT! It’s the only way to really double coupons in our area, it is completely legit and it’s so easy! It’s a great way to save a little if you stumble upon a sale and don’t have a coupon. You can just scan their app and activate any coupons right there!

I noticed that some coupons were “sold out” – does that mean even though I have clipped them, they may not apply to my account if I take too long to use them? or are they reserved for me?
