I received an opportunity to review a product called FunBites. It is a tool that cuts your child’s food into bite-sized pieces pretty quickly and easily. It comes in squares or hearts. (Can you guess which one I chose??) They have been featured on PARENTING.COM and CBS MORNING NEWS. But most recently, check them out in REAL SIMPLE Magazine! They have also been reviewed by more than 120 Mommy Bloggers like myself!
So, I received my FunBites tool in the mail a while back and just finally had the time to use it and take pictures this morning. Noah wanted a waffle for breakfast and it takes at least an extra minute or two to cut a waffle into bite sized squares. So, I thought this was the perfect opportunity.
To be honest, it took me a second to figure out exactly what to do with the two pieces. But, then, my coffee finally kicked in and the light bulb went off. The “plunger”was to push the cut pieces out of the “slicer”. So, once I “woke up”, the waffle was separated into perfectly cut, perfectly sized pieces. I didn’t even have to use a fork to hold it in place!
So, above, you see the whole waffle. I have already buttered it, so it’s ready to chop! The picture above this paragraph on the right shows the cutting piece. Notice how it is slightly bowed? That makes it sooo easy to rock it back and forth to cut through food items that may be a little tougher (like a crunchy waffle).
After pressing and rocking, of course the waffle was stuck in each little compartment of the cutter. This is where the genius part comes in! You just use the other piece to push the food out of the cutting squares. PRESTO!
Now, when I took both pieces off, my first thought was….”aw, it didn’t cut all the way through…”. But, I was wrong! I poked at the pieces with a fork and they were all separated! They were just still together because of how efficiently the FunBites tool cut them. There was no tearing or smooshing of the waffle at all. All that was left to do was to add syrup to the waffle, serve it up and toss the FunBites into the dishwasher!
