I had a brainstorm a while back and emailed several of my photographer friends. They all agreed to help and jumped on board. Here is what we are going to do:
Each month, we are going to have a Cute Kid of the Month contest. You send me your pics and I will post them on my Facebook page. Then, when the contest starts, readers will vote on the pics. The Photographers will rotate being the Cute Kid Sponsor of the month. The winning “Cute Kid” will win a prize from that month’s photographer/sponsor. We will have a theme for the pics each month, too. I have a few months worth of sponsors, so we will see how well it goes and possibly continue it indefinitely.
The first two months, we had a great response and little Raegan, pictured above, won the package last month!

For August, email a pic of your cute kid to kari@northshoremama.com. Please make the subject line “CUTE KID – AUGUST” so that I can find them easier and no one gets lost in my tons of emails! Please include the name of the child in the email. First name only is fine as I do not post them with full names.
Pics should be sent to me before July 31. It takes time to upload the pics, so I start working on it before the contest kicks off. Once the contest is posted, YOU CANNOT SEND PICS TO ADD TO THAT CONTEST. You have a week to get the pics to me.
Submissions for August should be inspired by this question: “ARE YOU READY FOR SOME FOOTBALL?!” Please keep in mind when selecting pics that the theme is there for a reason. Of course, your friends and family are going to vote for your cutie’s pic, but you also want extra votes from others! So, if you were voting in a contest and didn’t know any of the candidates, wouldn’t you look for the pics that fit the theme best?
SOME RULES: Professional photos are not allowed. These must be candid shots that you, a family member or friend have taken. The voting for this contest will start on August 1 and run for one week. Then, on August 8, after the week of voting, I will announce the winner.
You can participate month after month, but can not win more than once in a cycle of photographers. However, please only send me one picture. If you have three kids, send me a pic of all of them together. (How would the other two feel if one of them won?) We don’t want to spark any sibling rivalry issues too early!
If you are a photographer and would like to be a Sponsor, send me an email. If you have a cute pic of your child, send it now to get in for August. Votes will be counted by “LIKES” on your picture on my facebook page. One vote, per person, per picture. Comments will be allowed, but not counted as a vote. LIKES are the only way to insure that only one vote per person is counted. Email me with pics or with questions!
