Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party
This week, our Disney Mama, Tabitha is sharing all the details on the upcoming Halloween Party season at Disney. If you have never been to this event, it is something that you really should try to do at least once.
We have two Fridays off school in late September, early October. These tickets are not cheap, but are cheaper than a one day park ticket. So, it would be a really cool weekend getaway. Spend the day at your resort, then head over the the party at 4pm. Spend another day at the brand new Disney Springs or the Boardwalk and you have a very affordable weekend at Disney!
Read my review from this party in 2014. And….I just might have an update for you in a few weeks. ;) *wink, wink, hint, hint*

What exactly is the Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party or MNSSHP as you may see it written on many Disney sites? Is worth the extra cost? Well let me tell you it is a party you don’t want to miss and is worth EVERY penny! I have had the pleasure of attending this event with my kids and we ALL loved it!
Blood, gore, and being scared out of my wits, like most of the events that celebrate Halloween at this time of year, is something that I am not a fan of at ALL! If you are looking for something that has any of that type of entertainment then you need to head on over to Universal Studios for their Halloween Horror Nights! At Disney’s Halloween Party in the Magic Kingdom little ghouls, ghosts, princesses, princes, pirates, space rangers and an array of other amazing characters can attend and have a wonderful spooky fun night!
On the days of the event, the Magic Kingdom will close at 7pm, if you do not have a ticket. Ticketed guests can begin to arrive as early as 4pm and enjoy the Magic Kingdom attractions until the 7pm start of the party. Many people forgo purchasing a park ticket for this day and use it as a day to visit Downtown Disney, swim or relax.
Is it worth the extra ticket to attend? In my opinion YES!!
During the MNSSHP party there are tons of special character meet and greets set up throughout the ENTIRE Park! One of my favorite things about the party was getting a chance to see and get unique autographs from characters no longer in the parks. We had the chance to get ALL 7 Dwarfs autographs and pictures. They have trick or treating stations located all through the park as well, you couldn’t have a Halloween party without candy right! (Be prepared, you will get lots of candy, so bring a good bag to carry your treasures!)
The most coveted event and possible the best thing in my opinion is the Special Halloween parade! You MUST make sure that you are lined up early because just before the parade begins you will see an AMAZING site riding down the streets! The MNSSHP has so much more, the Villains Mix and Mingle Show, Dance Parties and one of the BEST Disney fireworks displays with Hallowishes.
What should you wear? A costume of course! This is the one and only time that adults are allowed to dress in a costume at a Disney Park (NO MASKS), so why not have fun and come as your favorite Disney character. Or you could plan on Celebrating your NOT SO SCARY 40th Birthday! *wink, wink, hint, hint*
Isn’t it obvious that the MNSSHP is an event that you don’t want to miss!! Now is the time to start thinking about your costume and get ready for a Fun and Spooky night at the MNSSHP!
